d.light was the winner of the Zayed Future Energy Prize 2013, the world’s largest annual award in the renewable and sustainable energy sector. d.light was selected in the small and medium size enterprise category.

d.light was selected as a top winner in the Sustainability category for its innovative solution, designed to leapfrog grid infrastructure and convert the high costs of distributed solar energy into affordable monthly payments, providing consumers a clean, reliable and cost-effective source of energy.

Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2014
Cofounders Ned Tozun and Sam Goldman were named Social Entrepreneurs of the Year 2014 by the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship. d.light, along with 37 other individuals and organizations in the 2014 class, will be fully integrated into the events and initiatives of the World Economic Forum.

d.light’s S1 was awarded the Gold Award, Spark’s highest honor.

2016-17 Global LEAP Award
Supported by the Clean Energy Ministerial, the Global LEAP Awards is an international competition that identifies and promotes the world’s best, most energy-efficient off-grid appliances. d.light won first place in the medium sized television category for our ultra-efficient (9W) 19" TV.

2015-16 Global LEAP Award
Supported by the Clean Energy Ministerial, the 2015–16 Global LEAP Awards is an international competition that identifies and promotes the world’s best, most energy-efficient off-grid appliances. This round of the Global LEAP Awards features competitions for televisions and fans that are designed for use with off-grid solar energy systems. D.light won first place in large and medium sized televisions, as well as second place in the small television category.

21st Century Icon Awards 2018
d.light received the highest honor, taking home the Elite Rising Star award at the 21st Century Icon Awards 2018. This award acknowledges private businesses that have demonstrated significant growth and genuine innovation in order to achieve their ambitious goals.

The d.light A1 was announced as the winner of sendea's Solar Lantern Competition 2016. Over 40 solar lanterns were evaluated by users across 30+ countries and the d.light A1.

2016 Innovation by Design Awards
The A1 light is a flexible, durable, high-quality solar lantern that’s truly affordable—it only costs $5. For poor families who sometimes pay 25 cents a day for kerosene to light their homes, this kind of light could help them save money while lighting their homes brightly in an easier, more efficient, and cleaner way.

The d.light A1 was honored by the Core77 Design awards in 2016. We partnered with IDEO.org, which contributed its expertise on consumer research and industrial design of the d.light A1. The Core77 Design Awards recognizes excellence in all areas of design enterprise.
